Multi-static sonar fusion detection system has advantages over the mono-static sonar system, such as the large-scale surveillance over the sea. In this paper, the method of distributed quantized detection fusion based on N-P (Neyman-Pearson) criterion is used to accomplish the signal detection in multi-static sonar system. The N-P criterion is a fusion criterion that maximizes the detection probability for a given false alarm probability, thus optimizing the detection fusion performance of the system. For traditional distributed sonar fusion, each static transmits only one binary decision information to the fusion center. And for the distributed quantized detection fusion, each static transmits more than one binary decision information to the fusion center. That is, the final result not only represents single base decision, but also indicates the existence of fuzzy decision, thereby the detection accuracy of the system improved. In this paper, the multi-static sonar distributed quantized detection fusion method based on N-P criterion is studied. Furthermore, the numerical simulation is given. And the method is testified by the experimental data from Songhua Lake in China. The performance is also analyzed and compared with the K out of N criterion.
