Design and Implementation of Lightweight Messaging Middleware for Edge Computing

Internet of Things (IoT) is one of the most desirable and interesting technologies developed over the past decades. Nowadays, smart things such as mobile phone, home and industrial IoT devices generates massive data and send it to centric cloud system. Edge computing which processes data using its own resources without cloud system became a trend in industrial field. In this paper, we propose the design and implementation of a lightweight messaging middleware for edge computing that allows real-time message transmission with low resources. Result of experiment shows that the proposed middleware allows better throughput and efficient resource usage than existing schemes on device that has low resources.
