Identification of Human Characteristics through Speech using Machine Learning Approach

Speech is the ability that helps humans to put ideas and thoughts into spoken words for effective communication. Speech recognition involves identification and conversion of human speech into binary values or machine code. A special relationship exists between speech features and human characteristics, speech features differ with different human characteristics. Human characteristics incorporates factors like age and gender of the subject. In this research for calculation of human characteristics, acoustic features of speech had been extracted. Age and gender prediction has several applications such as detection of mental age of children with special needs and in solving criminal cases.
