FIR filter plays a vital role on DSP applications. But the complexity and multifarious structure of the filter design limiting the use of the filter. Mostly direct and transposed structures are used to design an FIR filter based on its coefficient flow and input, the transposed and direct structures are being used. The multiplication is the main problem in the designing of the FIR filter. This paper presents multiplierless multiplication method. The researchers use shift and add process instead of multiplication. The direct and transposed structures of FIR filter design are used in the proposed structure in order to avoid the conflict that whether to use the direct and transposed structure or others.
