Count Time Series Analysis

Christian H. Weiß · Wiley StatsRef: Statistics Reference Online · 2018

Abstract Count time series are discrete‐valued time series having a quantitative range consisting of nonnegative integers. In addition to standard methods from real‐valued time series analysis, several tailor‐made approaches have been developed for analyzing these time series, including tools for checking model adequacy and techniques for coherent forecasting. Models for real‐valued time series cannot be used for count time series; classes of models for these discrete data are briefly surveyed.
