Our submission to the NIST TAC-KBP-20161 is an initial attempt to apply our ongoing research on text analysis within SUMMA project to TAC shared tasks. The goal of SUMMA is to develop a scalable and extensible media monitoring platform with an automatic knowledge base construction and cross-lingual capabilities, thus having a significant overlap with TAC-KBP tasks. For this first TAC participation, our system was only run for the Entity Discovery and Linking (EDL) and Cold Start Knowledge Base Population (KBP) tasks as a way to evaluate our initial system.
