A solid-state electrical recording magnetometer

A solid-state, three-axis recording magnetometer using fluxgate-type magnetic detectors is described. Design theory, circuit details, performance data and operating instructions are provided. Instrument specifications include an output sensitivity of 1 volt per 100 gammas, a -3 db gain roll-off at 3.5 Hz and Jess than 4 watts power consumption. A comparison of instrument performance when using tuned magnetic detectors with performance when using untuned detectors indicates the superiority of the latter mode of operation.
