Avoiding Data Replication in Cloud Using SHA-2

R. Raju, S. Aravind Kumar, R. Manikandan · 2018

Duplication occurs in cloud when two or more users try to upload same data who are working under a same organization. Deduplication is a process of avoiding the redundant data from the cloud. In previous systems they have used MD5 algorithm, which avoids performs on both file and content level de-duplication check. The main problem in this system is the security and time consumed, because it supports only 128 hash values. In this proposed system we are trying to use SHA-2 group of hashing algorithms instead of MD5, where it supports 256, 384 and 512 hash values, so the data can be more secured.
