Security Threats in Mobile Cognitive Radio Networks

Today wireless communication technologies are developing rapidly, which leads to an increase of the number of wireless applications and, as a result, to an increase of the loading on the radio frequency spectrum. Decision of this problem is the use of cognitive radio networks, which are based on the dynamic access to the spectrum. However, there are the questions of security during the transmission of information in case of a use of cognitive networks. This paper presents basic principle of cognitive radio network operation and security threat information important for the development of cognitive device. In addition, the paper presents the protective measures against the attacks under consideration can be taken into account at the stage of network design and development of cognitive nodes.
