Authors propose a method for optimizing conventional diagnostic algorithms based on their representation in the form of heterogeneous questionnaires with the subsequent transition to a binary form by “gluing” the vertices of the questionnaire and reducing the depth of diagnosis. It optimizes the binary structure and returns to the original heterogeneous form by “splitting” the vertices questionnaire. The method was used by the authors to optimize diagnostic algorithms in railway automation and remote-control devices considering statistical data on failures in their components. As a part of modern systems soft-ware optimal diagnostic algorithms can be an improve the continuous monitoring of railway automation and remote-control devices. Accounting for statistical information in the identification of a failure, taking into account the automation of the processing of diagnostic information, allows you to move to a higher level of safety and reliability of processing diagnostic information.
