Using the Gaussian Elimination Method for Large Banded Matrix Equations

A special book-keeping method was developed to allow computers with limited random access memory but sufficient harddisk space to feasibly solve large banded matrix equations by using the Gaussian Elimination method with Partial Pivoting.The computation time for this method is excellent because only a minimum number of disk readjwrite is required, freeing processor time for number crunching.I I c INCX storage spacing between elements of ex c c --Output--C CSCAL complex result (unchanged if N .LE.O)
