Improved Block Sparse DOA Estimator with Unknown Mutual Coupling

Mutual coupling effect will degrade the performance of DOA estimation. A block sparse representation algorithm has been proposed to mitigate the deterioration. However, this method is seriously affected by the assumed order of the model. The order depends on the number of array elements between which mutual coupling effect cannot be ignored. An improved algorithm is proposed in this paper to increase the robustness.
