Collaborative Filtering and Data Privacy Protection: Overview and Challenges

Collaborative Filtering is a widely-used recommend technique and has gained much attention in both industry and academy. However, it faces data privacy issues in practical use. In this paper, we make a comprehensive survey about Collaborative Filtering and Data Privacy Protection. Several privacy issues and challenges about collaborative filtering are pointed out. This paper provides a guide for researchers who focus on collaborative filtering recommendation algorithm and privacy preservation issues.
