5G:An Enabler to IoT and Tactile Internet

Nidhi Sharma, Reema Sharma · 2018

It is envisioned that cellular networks takes at least ten years to get from one generation to another. 5G is not an exception to that, as for global standardization , the whole cellular ecosystem needs to be agreed on all technological aspects which include antenna , modulation, security , mobility, authentication and so on. Technological evolutions guided us that probably cellular technology comes out to be the right answer for 5G , IoT and tactile internet to take off .While working with other technologies their is a struggle for coverage, reliability, scalability and liability .By using cellular it is possible to design a telecommunication system which can transmit at very high power range and consumes very less energy. By 2020 ,5th generation cellular networks aims to provide data rates of more than 10Gbps ,opens up the paths for massive connected devices (Internet of things) communicating critical services (Tactile Internet) through haptic sensors.
