Acquisition and Analysis of Forensic Data Artefacts of Some Popular Apps in Android Smartphone

Technology is trying to compete with itself (with condition in the past) today to achieve better popularity and make the humans more comfortable in their daily work. Of the latest ventures in this effort is the multitude of apps for the growing users of smartphones. But, like everything has a brighter as well as a darker side, there are a few drawbacks to the usage of these apps. In this paper, an exhaustive assessment and analysis has been done about the expanse of users' private information being stored by some popular & needful apps, both in the smartphones' local storage and the app server. Another factor highlighted is the proportion of information that can be retrieved in a user readable form, from the app-related artifacts, through forensic tools. Lastly, few recommendations have been proposed as a conclusion of the analysis and observations through a systematic methodology.
