Image Enhancement has been used extensively in different fields like medical diagnosis, security purpose and feature detection. Various techniques for image enhancement have been proposed and implemented. Studies on image enhancement mainly focuses upon contrast enhancement, image sharpening and edge enhancement. This paper presents various latest developments in the field of image enhancement using fuzzy logic and retinex theory. Comparative studies of different algorithms have been stated in this paper with their features. Experimental analysis has been discussed for the same.
