Autonomous and distributed nature of Web services present challenges for ensuring the reliability of composed web services. In the composition, it is necessary to have a set of services available that offer certain functionalities and also meet the constraints on the quality of service. Therefore, it is necessary to adopt mechanisms for controlling and adapting services composition. In this paper, we present an architecture for the monitoring and the adaptation of service composition using a set of components that work together to ensure the proper operation of services orchestration, which is based on the dynamic selection of the alternative service. We provide a case study of Bookstore process to illustrate our proposal and we discuss some implementation results, with mainly focusing on response time and throughput quality requirements.
