Performance Modelling and Analysis of a Station-free Bike Sharing System

Meihua Zhou, Jie Ding, Huixing Fang · 2018

Bike Sharing Systems (BSSs) are recently becoming flourishing in many cities across the global as technical improvements in the operation combined with increased prevailing environmental and health awareness. This paper focuses on the performance analysis for station-free bike sharing systems, and we construct the formal model of BSSs using stochastic process algebra PEPA, and evaluate the travel time, capacity planning and utilization. With performance analysis results for the station-free BSS, resource scheduling can be easily achieved and service quality can be greatly improved.
