Fuzzy NLG System for Extensive Verbal Description of Relative Positions
Jesse Francis, Farhad Rahbarnia, Pascal Matsakis · 2018
Verbal descriptions of relative positions of objects in space are extremely common in everyday life. They are built around terms that denote spatial relationships (such as `inside,' `above,' `far') and that are often accompanied by qualifiers (such as `completely,' `somewhat,' `very'). Several systems for the generation of such descriptions from digital image objects can be found in the literature. The new fuzzy system presented in this paper considers a much richer set of spatial relationships and qualifiers. The system relies on one of the most recent relative position descriptors, i.e., the Φ-descriptor.
