In this paper, several ways of adapting data transmission processes in information measuring systems, which involves manipulation of width of the data being transmitted depending on communication channel status. The research was conducted on the simulation model of data transmission system, built based on binary symmetric channel with application of Bose-Chaudhuri-Hocquenghem error correcting code. The basis for the suggested adaptive system is status assessment of the data transmission channel, according to which selection is done of transmitted data width and parameters of error correcting code, which provide given probability of error at the receiving end with consideration of the limited throughput capacity of the communication channel. In this case, should the status of the communication channel not allow transmitting the data with given reliability level, only high-order bites will be transmitted and the low-order bits are kept in some buffer memory and will be transmitted later. Assessment of the communication channel status is performed based on error-code decoding statistics at the receiving end with transmission of this statistics in one form or another to the transmitting side. The simulation modeling results show the accuracy of the suggested solution and allow assess the main parameters of the data transmission systems with such adaptive method.
