An Encryption Algorithm of Image Based on Chaotic Sequences and DCT

This paper lays out an approach of image encryption algorithm based on the discrete cosine transform (DCT) and chaotic system. The DCT was firstly utilized to compress images in frequency domain, replacement rule and chaotic sequence of symbols was generated respectively by using chaotic system to encrypt the compressed data in the frequency domain. Simulation results show that, the proposed algorithm can not only makes good encryption effects, but also has the certain compression performance. At the same time, the algorithm can make the appropriate adjustments to the compression and encryption effect according to the demand.
