High Efficiency Image Coding Using Iterative Hybrid Filtering

S Nandhu Krishnan, Preetha Basu · 2018

In high efficiency image coding we may use ALF or wiener filters. Wiener filter is most commonly used in image restoration since it reduces the mean square error between the original and reconstructed image. The main factor which affect the performance of the HEVC system is the QP parameter and the type of filter used. The most common filter used in HEVC is wiener filter. In this paper, we propose a hybrid filter and apply an iterative training method to derive filter parameters for each sample of image to obtain an optimal filter.
