Mutual overflow policies comparison in multi-service environment

Mariusz Głąbowski, Przemysław Walkowiak · 2018

The work investigates various mutual overflow policies in multi-service networks with only primary resources (the same level of hierarchy) and with primary and alternative resources (a hierarchical system). The investigation has been done for various network topologies and overflow scenarios. The comparison of different mutual overflow policies is performed in terms of blocking probability and carried traffic. The study is based on the results of simulations and shows benefits of application of mutual overflows. The outcome of the work can be used in planning and dimensioning of multi-service systems with distributed resources, e.g. in data centres.
