Fixed-point ICA compensator of I/Q imbalance in Direct-Conversion Receivers

I/Q-imbalance should be taken into account and compensate if possible for the qualitative operation of the receivers with the analog quadrature front-end. One of the I/Q-imbalance blind compensation algorithms based on the method of independent component analysis with a fixed number of iterations (Fixed Point ICA) is proposed in the paper. The efficiency of the method was investigated depending on the modulation order (QAM-64...256), type of the chosen nonlinearity, the number of samples, Eb/No parameter. The number of iterations necessary for convergence is also included in the letter.
