Information is a very valuable resource and must be protected against harmful attacks from inside as well as outside the organization. As a resource, information is the lifeline of many organizations and is therefore vital for the survival of any organization today. Information security has developed over the last 50 years due to different development trends that have an influence on the information security environment. Information security development trends that can be clearly identified in the information security environment are best practices, certification, awareness, and the measurement of information security.
