Processing challenges and technologies of ocean bottom node survey

Ocean bottom node acquisition (OBN) is one of the technologies used in the oil industry for deep marine exploration. This abstract addresses the challenges and development of novel seismic data processing technologies that are of paramount importance in order to capitalize on the uniqueness of OBN acquisition. New techniques were developed to overcome unique issues to OBN time processing given the nature of the acquisition environment where land, shallow and deep marine exist in the same survey. We will also, demonstrate the effectiveness of the developed algorithms using an OBN dataset acquired in one of the most challenging environment.
