The Event-triggered Strategy in Adaptive Synchronization of Complex Networks

Buzhi Qin, Xinbiao Lu · 2018

It is known that a connected complex network may achieve synchronization by the interaction between coupled nodes when the coupling strength between the nodes is big enough. How to the obtain this coupling strength has been a hot topic. One effective method is adaptive strategy, where the coupling strength increases with the difference of the states of neighboring nodes. However, this approach need adjust the coupling strength when there exists the difference of states, this will decrease the function of the neighboring nodes interaction on the synchronization of complex networks and increase the communication cost between nodes. In this paper, an event-triggered strategy is proposed to make the network achieve synchronization. In this approach, when the difference between neighboring nodes is lower than one threshold, the adaptive strategy does not function, and when the difference between neighboring nodes is bigger than the threshold. The stability analysis of the approach is given and simulations verify the effectiveness of the strategy.
