Power Analysis Attack for an Authenticated Encryption Offset Two Round

Due to the advancements in Internet of Things (IoT) technology, big data and network communication between sensors have been widely used. Therefore, authenticated encryption that has both authentication and encryption functions has attracted the attention of many researchers. Offset Two Round (OTR), one of the authenticated encryption modes for block ciphers, can be embedded using a small area. However, the risk of power analysis attacks, which analyze confidential information by measuring power consumption, has been pointed out. The present study proposes a new method for power analysis attacks against TWINE-OTR. The present study also verifies the validity of the proposed method by performing several evaluation experiments using an actual device.
