PhD Forum: Monitoring and Detecting Flood by Fusing the Sensor and Social Media Data Streams
Neha Singh · 2018
In this work, we explore the use of different data sources for flood detection and monitoring: physical reading from distributed sensor network and social media through Twitter data. For better flood disaster management these independent data sources have been utilized, followed by exploring and discovering efficient ways to fuse these distributed data sources in order to get the best possible results which complement each other advantages. Both the above-mentioned models have their merits and pitfalls autonomously and fusing them would provide us the opportunity to leverage the advantages associated with both type of models and come up with the better methods to monitor and detect the real-time floods in smart cities.
