A relay-assisted secure handover mechanism is designed to solve the problem of fast and frequent handover in the process of high-speed trains running. It combines the pre-authentication handover scheme with the authenticated key agreement protocol to realize the authentication and key agreement between the train antenna and the target eNodeB. Through the security and computational efficiency, as well as simulation experiments show that the proposed secure handover mechanism not only has high security, but also effectively reduces computational overheads of the train antenna during the secure handover process. When a high-speed train travel speed is less than 500km/h, the handover delay is generally less than 50ms, and the handover outage probability is less than 1.8%. When a high-speed train traveling speed is 350km/h, the average throughput of the handover process is higher than 16.4mbps.
