The Effect of Exposure Duration on Similarity and Discriminability in High and Low Similarity Simultaneous Lineups

Keith Ransom, Peter Grieve, Carolyn Semmler · 2018

This project aims to understand how exposure time, a key variable for altering the encoding strength of a face, in the context of simultaneous lineups, may alter perceived similarity. Understanding how perceived similarity varies across conditions is an important step for the development of methods for testing eyewitness memory and for developing measurement models for the eyewitness task. In particular we will be examining changes in accuracy and lineup discriminability across high and low similarity conditions.
