Gender Differences of 14169 Patients with Cerebral Hemorrhage Based on Real World HIS Database

Objective: To investigate the gender differences for patients with cerebral hemorrhage based on analyzing reality of clinical hospital information system. Methods: A descriptive statistic method was used in the analysis of 14169 patients with cerebral hemorrhage. Results: Male possess a larger percentage in patients with cerebral hemorrhage( 63. 01% vs 36. 99%),the median age of the male was 57. 00 years old,and that of the female was 58. 00,the peak is45-59 years old. Admitting TCM syndromes were mainly phlegm-stasis blocking meridians, wind-phlegm blocking meridians,blood stasis due to qi deficiency,male were mainly phlegm-stasis blocking meridians,while female were evenly distributed. Discharging TCM syndromes were mainly wind-phlegm blocking meridians,blood stasis due to qi deficiency,Yin-deficiency of liver and kidney,both male and female patients were mainly wind-phlegm blocking meridians. The male had higher prevalence of pulmonary infection( 15. 26%),fracture( 6. 03%),blood lipid abnormality( 2. 52%),renal inadequacy( 2. 5%),while female had higher prevalence of aneurysm( 21. 87%),hydrocephalus( 2. 63%),and arrhythmia( 3. 19%). The median length of hospital stay and hospitalization expenses of the male were 16 days and23951. 61 yuan,and that of the female were 15 days and 25403. 50 yuan. Conclusion: There were gender differences in cerebral hemorrhage,compared with female; male had higher proportion,lower age,longer length of hospital stay,lower cost. Different gender had different cerebral hemorrhage spectrum,syndrome distribution and complications.
