Tropical cyclones are low pressure system that forms a very strong wind vortex in the tropical region. One of those phenomena that affected some Indonesia region was the YVETTE cyclone that occurs on the north west of Australia. YVETTE cyclone was one of the extreme weather that had a great impact on Indonesia, especially West Nusa Tenggara, where there could be a heavy rain and flood. The aims of this research are to stake and know the effectiveness of Flood Early Warning innovation in Bima West Nusa Tenggara. A rain sensor set up on the tipping bucket is used to measure the rain fall intensity. Every tip occurring on the tipping bucket will make an interaction of the two magnets so the switch on making an input signal which will be continued to the signal processing. Object around this device will be detected by ultrasonic sensor which has a principle to bounce back the signal from transmitter to receiver. Arduino as a microcontroller will be measured the time’s needs to receive ultrasonic wave and the distance of sensor and the water level. Then the data of output signal is process, displayed, and saved by system. So the output system gives flood early warning information as short messages to district coordinator around the device located.
