An E-business service provided through mobile communications networks
Eugen Pop, Daniela Gîfu · 2018
Agents from economic or guvernamental domains of activity often use e-business services for providing their products and services on the market, within the business environment. The clients can access such services and products through mobile or wireless communications networks, using smartphones, so the access efficiency increases. Such e-business services are often referred, in literature, as “mobile business”. As a mobile business example, this work presents a stock market exchange platform, which can be used by the clients through Android OS smartphones. The platform is developed within a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) approach. The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BSE) provides the digital content for the e-business service. The data connection between the service provider and the mobile clients is realized by a Web service, using SOAP and REST protocols, through 4G LTE and IEEE 802.11n Wi-Fi channels. The time response of the Web service was evaluated for both types of data channels and protocols along with statistical conclusions. The volume and cost of the transferred data is minimized by the Web service, comparing with a simple browsing. The platform can be extended and configured according to different business models and to comply with a cloud environment.
