We, the Japanese Society of Computational Statistics (JSCS), have published the Journal of the Japanese Society of Computational Statistics (JJSCS) for 30 years since its foundation.We decided to take over the role of JJSCS to the new journal named the Japanese Journal of Statistics and Data Science (JJSD), to publish more international-level articles and to enhance the value of our journal.JJSD is published by the Japanese Federation of Statistical Science Associations (JFSSA) and is to be first published in 2018.JSCS will be responsible for publishing JJSD as a member of JFSSA.The following is a part of the Aim and Scope of JJSD:
