Comparison of bio-medical image de-noising technique to pre-process abdomen computed tomography images

Rakesh Prabhu, Asif M. Khan · 2017

The Bio-Medical Image De-Noising Problem can be addressed by doing a comparative study. De-Noising is a pre-processing technique used in Computer Aided Diagnosis (CAD) system to obtaining good quality image. Bio-medical images are often corrupted during acquisition, transmission or during storage. Pre-processing plays an important role in obtaining good resulting efficiency and accuracy of further process. Abdominal Computed tomography (CT) images of different patient are utilized for testing the algorithm, Statistical analysis is done using Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR), Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), and visual interpretation is used to analyse the image quality after noise reduction.
