A novel air writing recognition system using Raspberry Pi for the control and interaction of digital systems
Devarakonda Lakshmi, Basavoju Harish · 2017
In this work, a finger writing system was designed that displays the data written in the air without the need for an extra handheld device. It will be very useful for remote applications. Here a camera used to capture the finger movements. The captured images are processed by using open CV. This is an embedded based device, it has GUI. The hardware used for this device is Raspberry Pi board, UVC Driver Camera, Keyboard, Display Unit, Mouse and an SD card. SD Card is needed for loading the OS required for operating the Raspberry Pi. The Software used for this device is Linux OS, Open CV for image processing, and Qt for designing the GUI. The used webcam has the capability to capture 30 Frames per second. The writing speed depends on the Processor capability to process the images. One can save the images on the HTML page.
