Keyword search over encrypted data

Surabhi Kaul, Anurag Jain, Amit Verma · 2017

As cloud computing is getting more popular, users are putting more data on the cloud. For making the user data secure, files need to be encrypted before putting them on the cloud. But this has raised the issue of search in the encrypted data. To get rid of this issue, different researchers have given the keyword based search technique in encrypted data. The major limitation of this approach was that this has restricted the search procedure limited to keywords only, i.e. users, which do not have pre knowledge of the encrypted cloud facts, have to post process every file record in order to discover the ones most matching their interests. In this paper, the proposed search mechanism has used natural language processing to prepare database for most frequently used words. To search any word, it is compared with the most frequently used words stored in the database. In this way, this search mechanism has not only improved the security of data while it is lying on the cloud but also improved the search efficiency.
