Fault tolerant routing algorithms are important concern in the design of Network-on-Chip (NoC) as they have direct effect on the performance of the system. In this paper, we have proposed a new fault tolerant algorithm named Dn-FTR which takes care of the router and link failures in the network and still be able to provide paths in the network for the given source destination pairs. The proposed algorithm has been tested for the performance and scalability and it has been shown that the proposed algorithm produces better results compared to the recent fault-tolerant routing algorithms in the literature. Cases where the previous algorithms fail and the proposed algorithm could provide the paths have also been discussed. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm gives superior performance by reducing number of hops compared to the existing routing algorithms.
