A unifying architecture model for developing context-aware systems

In this paper we analyse several proposed context-aware system architectures and identify a set of requirements for building a unifying architecture model that support the development of every context-aware application domains. Then, we propose a unifying context-aware architectural model that satisfied all the identified requirements. As the reliability of context-data plays a fundamental part of system design and implementation, we introduced a reasoner layer whose functionality is to ensure the correctness and reliability of context-data. Depending on the context-data, an appropriate reasoner is chosen. In addition, the architecture allows context aware systems to communicate and interact with each other either in an ad-hoc fashion or within a federation of systems.
