This article proposes a hybrid filter for suppressing the Gaussian noise in Computer Tomography (CT) medical images to improve the quality of the image. The proposed work combines the Modified Median Wiener filter (MMWF) and Absolute Difference and Mean (ADMF) filter to become a hybrid filter. This hybrid algorithm is compared with the Triangular and Direction-based filter (TDBF), discrete wavelet transform using Total Variation (DWTTV), Edge Preserving Hybrid Filter(EPHF), Absolute Difference and Mean (ADMF) filter and Modified Median Wiener filter (MMWF) existing filter using 25 CT images. These CT grayscale images used as test images are induced with the Gaussian noise of variance ranging from 0.01 to 0.10. The simulation result shows that the proposed Hybrid algorithm performs better than existing filter compared in this research article in terms of Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) and Mean Square Error (MSE).
