Design and implementation of desktop full-text searching system

Full-Text search is searching mechanism which performs searching a collection in a full text database or a single computer-stored document. Full_ Text Search is based on Lucene Search Engine. Lucene is open source java based searching library. Now a day, Local System stored number of files or documents. At the same time, the number of various multimedia files stored in Local System, such as image, text files, audio and video files. Recent problem, user how to find and locate file or document as quickly as possible. So this paper present Desktop Full_ Text Searching. We performed the two searching algorithms on proposed search system. Keyword searching and File Searching algorithms are used for searching on proposed search System. The performances of these two algorithms have been searched on six different types of documents (like as pdf, ppt, txt, doc, docx, and xml) using Local system data. Compared to string retrieval, the experimental results show that the proposed search system has faster retrieval speed.
