Power aware node selection in multicast routing for mobile ad hoc networks
M. Duraipandian, R. Karthik · 2017
Mobile ad hoc network is an infrastructure less self-configuring network, where nodes organize themselves arbitrarily. In this paper, a new multicast algorithm is proposed to increase the life time of the node and network in the mobile ad hoc network with increased packet delivery ratio. To do multicasting, the source node selects a nearest neighbor with maximum residual battery capacity. The proposed algorithm is simulated using network simulator 2.34 and is tested under various conditions and compared with the existing algorithm. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms the existing algorithm in terms of packet delivery ratio, throughput, delay, dropping ratio, average energy consumption and life time of network.
