The advent of technology has spearheaded the increased interest in the self-configuring Mobile Ad-hoc Networks (MANET). Amongst the various constraints pertaining to the wireless mobile infrastructure-less networking environment with compact batteries as the power storehouses, power consumption and energy enrichment remains a very important issue. This demands a dire need for the development of energy efficient routing protocol that optimizes Quality of Service parameters of the network. This paper focuses on improving the performance of ZRP protocol and achieving energy enrichment in MANET by dividing the network into clusters and selecting heads within the clusters by applying neoteric RA technique also referred as random cluster head selection based routing approach. Route Aggregation is known to have played a pivotal role in containing the problem of routing scalability in the internet routing. With the growing number of devices connected to the internet, there emerged a need for increasing the routing table size to accommodate the increased devices. To overcome this Route Aggregation was used as a router mechanism. It works by superseding a group of routes and replacing it with a lone route for advertising. The RA technique proves very effective in improving the various QOS parameters, primarily in the reduction of the average energy consumed.
