An Efficient Implementation of the Quincunx Filter Bank
Arno J. van Leest · 2007
Recently connections between the Gabor expansion and DFT filter banks have been established, in particular in case of sampling on a rectangular grid. We provide an efficient implementation of the so-called quincunx filter bank in case of integer and rational oversampling. The quincunx grid often offers better performance in terms of frame bounds. These frame bounds can be obtained by determining the eigenvalues of the polyphase matrices of the filter bank. In case of integer oversampling the calculation of the frame bounds can be determined in a straightforward way. It turns out that the complexity of the quincunx filter bank is approximately the same compared with the ordinary filter bank. Finally, an example is given. Introduction Since the relation between the discrete Gabor expansion and DFT filter banks has been established [1], a lot of papers have been published in this area [2], [3], [4]. These p...
