Object recognition and event recognition are one of the most needed research topic which is booming among the image processing researchers. Due to the wide application of object tracking and detecting the there is a need to know the existing. There is an increasing desire among the researchers to know the steps involved and the algorithms employed in this recognition procedure. The overview of this article is to have a glance at current developments in surveillance systems, their probability to access abnormal behaviour and identify human subject in various applications.
