15‐4: Quantitative Evaluation of Visual Display Resolution Based on Human Visual Perception

Conventional visual resolution metric shows inconsistency with perceived resolution especially for displays with non‐standard sub‐pixel layout. To overcome this inconsistency, this paper proposes a new quantitative metric based on contrast modulation and structure comparison. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed metric has higher correlation with human visual perception than the conventional metric.
