A macro view of the micro: bit in higher education

The micro:bit - a credit-card-sized Internet of Things platform - is one of the most exciting innovations to happen in computer science education in many years. The micro:bit was originally designed to foster an interest in computer science among younger students in the UK, but many of the factors that make the micro:bit an ideal tool for use in K-12 also apply to higher education. This paper explains what the micro:bit is and details the myriad ways in which it may be used in post-secondary education.
