Beyond the expected improvement of key performance indexes (like bandwidth, delay, jitter), the advent of 5G networks is expected to bring radical changes in the way services are realized and managed in several key vertical sectors, including energy. In this paper, we elaborate on the opportunity for quicker service development and deployment for the smart grid.
