As the BEST engineering tooling (https://logiciels.cnes.fr/content/best) is no longer adapted to the requirements of new space projects (in terms of data size and data formats), the CNES (https://cnes.fr/en) is preparing a new generation of software to replace this framework. This paper presents the BEST-NG solution, a new modeling editor for describing the content of the satellite's database.BEST-NG is designed to address multidomain issues and multi-format issues: in a single model, it can handle information from XTCE, CADS, XIF M&C, and XIF files. The solution is based on a UML-like custom Profile approach and the use of EMF Facet. It uses Eclipse Modeling technologies to solve major challenges.Especially, it provides import/export support for all these formats, good performances, validation, and a rich user-friendly expressions editor-implemented with Xtext-.BEST-NG should be used as the corner stone for future developments concerning the new space database management tools suite developed for the CNES.
